 | Touching Enlightenment: 2008 Teaching Tour
| | |
|
In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the body is considered the gateway to enlightenment — to discover the body is to discover awareness, and, eventually, the awakened state. When we look at the body from the outside, we see something ordinary. But when we view it through the eye of meditation, we find it holds unlimited interpenetrating realities. As Reggie teaches, “to discover the body is to discover our deepest self, and, in turn, to arrive at the genuine spiritual fulfillment we all seek.”
On this Touching enlightenment teaching tour, created for meditators of all levels, Reggie brings the practice of embodied meditation to students across the country. In evening lectures and weekend intensives, he will introduce participants to a series of body-based awareness practices drawn from Tibetan yoga — somatic protocols that open us to the full depths of our inner life in all its profundity and transformative power and allow us to come face to face with your own deepest unfolding journey.
Dr. Reggie Ray brings us four decades of intensive study and practice within the Tibetan tradition as well as a special gift for addressing the unique inspirations and spiritual imperatives of modern people. Here is a unique opportunity to study with Reggie, one of the most innovative meditation teachers in the West.

If You Want to Explore Your “Unconscious”
If you want to explore your unconscious and get to the root of your problems, your traumas, and your neuroses, you don’t need to go to an expensive therapist. Just rest your mind in the clear, open space of the natural mind and all your unresolved “issues” and dilemmas will shortly present themselves, just as they are, without the inevitable filtering and distorting devices of someone’s interpretation. In fact, they have been just awaiting such an invitation from you for a long, long time.

Shrine like Sky

The Dharma Ocean Retreat Center is well underway in Crestone,
Colorado. We are nearing completion of the Shrine Hall building,
scheduled for November of this year, 2008. Dharma Ocean still needs
your support and financial contributions to finish the building; an
additional $300,000 will ensure the success of the project. Please
contact catherinehollander@dharmaocean.org to help.
We look forward to seeing you at our first program in the new
building, Winter Dathün 2008/09. Look for registration to be posted
on this site by September.

The truss ceiling is a beautiful feature in the meditation space
that will seat approximately 150 meditators.

The Shrine Hall room has large windows with beautiful views of the
San Luis Valley and surrounding landscape.
